It costs us £15 to buy a tree, a tree planting kit, and to actually plant the tree.

But we can only plant trees with your donations…

We are committed to making carbon free living a reality, and so we have developed a very simple, yet scientific approach to carbon offsetting.

Despite the fact that we all live very different lives, we have used the UK government carbon footprint data to work out an average individual’s carbon footprint.

We have then looked at how many trees we need to plant to offset that that carbon footprint.

For two people, (excluding cars and holiday flights) It will take 34 trees their entire lifetimes of absorbing carbon dioxide, and converting it to oxygen, to remove all of the carbon dioxide produced in a year.

Carbon free living as a family

We are committed to making carbon free living a reality, and so we have developed a very simple, yet scientific approach to carbon offsetting.

For a family of two adults and two children, (excluding cars and holiday flights) It will take 50 trees their entire lifetimes of absorbing carbon dioxide, and converting it to oxygen, to remove all of the carbon dioxide produced in a year.

Carbon free living as a single person

Carbon free motoring (in a larger car)

We are committed to making carbon free living a reality, and so we have developed a very simple, yet scientific approach to carbon offsetting.

Despite the fact that there are hundreds of types of car, and that everyone drives differently, we have been able to work out an average figure.

Our assumptions

We are assuming that most people, on average, will drive 12,000 Km per year (that is 7456 miles)

(If you do 24 000 Km, then simply select two of these packages.)

We have assumed a larger car is any car, petrol or diesel that has an engine larger than 2 litres, but which is not a van or a mobile home.

Our calculations

It will take 8 trees their entire lifetimes of absorbing carbon dioxide, and converting it to oxygen to remove all of the carbon dioxide produced by driving 12 000 Km.

And so this carbon free living product is based on our cost of planting and caring for 8 trees in our UK based forests.

Carbon free motoring (in a smaller car)

Carbon neutral long haul flights

We have first quantified the emissions from commercial aircraft and have then calculated the emissions per passenger.

We have then looked at how many trees we can plant to offset that those carbon emissions.

For a single passenger on a medium haul flight (4000km – 10 000km or around five – twelve hours flying time)  it will take fifteen trees their entire lifetime of absorbing carbon dioxide, and converting it to oxygen, to remove all of the carbon dioxide produced for that single one way flight. So if there are two of you travelling, and you have booked a return trip it will take four of this product to offset your flights.

Carbon neutral medium haul flight

So if there are two of you travelling, and you have booked a return trip it will take four of this product to offset your flights.

Carbon neutral short haul flight
